The picture shows our roughly planned route from Berlin to Kathmandu. Most likely we will change or adapt the route on our way. In total it will comprise about 12.000 – 13.000 km. Until Vienna we have worked out a quite detailled route already, as we will be visiting a number of friends and relatives. From Vienna heading towards Istanbul we will pass Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrade and Varna. In Istanbul we will have cycled about 4000 km. There we want to stay for a while in order to prepare the next part of the trip, check and fix the bikes and take a little break from cycling.
All in all we are planning to cross Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan and China. Depending on the visa and border rules (its changing monthly, weekly and sometimes dayly) we’ll then figure out how to continue our travels.
